Plug-in cars are becoming quite the story! Big and small auto makers are
announcing electric and plug-in hybrid cars for the not-so-distant future. In California,
where the toughest vehicle emission standards currently exist, the California Air Resources
Board (CARB) is reviewing and revising the Zero Emission Vehicle Mandate (ZEV) and will
be meeting in early 2008 to vote on changes and hopefully on improvements. Tesla
(Tesla Roadsters, whose corporate motto is "Burn Rubber, Not Gasoline,") is only
months from delivering the first new full function battery electric cars
<185 kW Li Ion; 248 horsepower electric motor driving the rear wheels through a
