Note: After doing some math, green-metroplex has determined the most cost effective use of
the Poulsen Hybrid System will not be for the primary target users that Poulsen has extended
its reach to enamor itself with. That would be the smaller, more fuel efficient auto owners. The
numbers show that the best cost/benefit ratio will actually be for owners of compact and mid
sized vans, and medium sized to large vehicles. Big car owners would be the true beneficiaries
of this new conversion system because the fuel/cost savings will be far greater than for smaller
cars!
As an exercise we tabulated the miles we used our Freestar mini-van, everyday for a month.
We deducted 25 miles from every day that we drove to represent using charged batteries at
the beginning of our daily travel to the workplace and on errands with the engine on to power
up steering, breaks, lights and air conditioning. Trips less than 25 miles were not added at all.
The results? In essence, our gas usage with a Poulsen Hybrid System would reduce our weekly
mini-van fill-ups to
one fill-up monthly, with plenty of gas to spare.  There is no doubt that by
also combining
Hyper-mileage techniques the mileage will only improve even more and the
numbers will only get better.

The Poulsen Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle System creates a
PHEV by retro-fitting electric motors, DC motor controllers, a battery
pack and an on-board charger to a conventional new or used
automobile. This low kilowatt conversion system added to ones existing
vehicle, makes possible a small battery capacity, tailor made for ones
most common 15-30 mile local suburban travel done 50% of any given
average person's travel day and does not impede ones current vehicle
configuration other than adding about 300 pounds of extra weight while
improving performance especially on 35 MPH local area streets, such as
while doing local shopping or errands.

As the Poulsen Hybrid
Conversion appears to be stalled at this date - Green-
metroplex is pursuing this new alternative system for mini-
van conversion into hybrids. There appears to be no
significant downside to using these wheel conversion
motors in the rear wheels of front wheel drive minivans for
in-town stop and go driving to aid during acceleration from
stop lights and for maintaining moderate speeds after
attaining them for cruising on speedways and boulevards
to save gas during normal 25 - 30 mile every day average
commutes about town. Retrofitting metric hardware to
American measurement systems appears to be the only
unsolved problem at this time.
Tests on rear peddle/front drive motor powered trikes has
proven that a simple twist throttle control can easily be
used in parallel with he standard foot power throttle of any
vehicle. The technique of twisting the electric motor
throttle on the shift lever of ones car and releasing foot
throttle pressure once the desired speed is reached after
acceleration from stops becomes automatic after only a
few minutes. The engine then remains at idle but while still
in gear which allows for transmission lubrication, use of
head lights, air conditioning to continue and power brakes
and steering are also actively maintained.
Green-metroplex will post conversion sources soon. g-m
