What goes in the recycling blue bag?
|
Aluminum cans, steel food cans, aerosol cans, plastic food containers #1 - #5 and #7 (No #6! styrofoam).
Glass bottles and jars.
All paper: Magazines and catalogs, junk mail, paperboard boxes, brown paper bags, newspaper, telephone
books, and mixed office paper.
Put everything that is acceptable for recycling in one recycling blue bag, including all paper recyclables.
Important things to remember...

Recycle on your normal weekly recycling day (recycling is now once a week).
Set out your recyclables by 7 a.m. the morning of your collection day.
Flatten all corrugated cardboard boxes and place under the recycling blue bag.
Recycle glass bottles and jars (Remove all lids and rinse).
Recycle plastic food containers (#1 - #7, excluding #6, styrofoam (remove all lids and rinse).
Blue recycling bags can be purchased at all City Recreation Centers and at Irving City Hall, 825 W. Irving
Blvd., in Customer Service on the first floor. Call for hours of operation (972) 721-8059 or visit

No hazardous material containers will be collected in blue bags (i.e., flammables, paint, pesticides,
herbicides poisons, solvents and motor oil.
