This image of a discarded 1/4 full Spring™ 1 Litter PVC Water
Bottle, Found in Bedford, TX but bottled in High Springs, Florida
by the Coca Cola Company is symbolic of the struggle to enlighten
our citizens, young and old, about our universal carbon footprint
and the affects of plastic pollution.
.
Coca Cola stockholders insist on a profit, so they condone the
electricity to pump out the water, energy to clean it, energy & oil
to create plastic containers and multi-bottle wrap for shipping &
energy to ship it to the corners of the country. We like the
packaging so we buy it when we are thirsty and because it's "just
plastic" we can litter our countryside and towns with these bottles
without conscience. Highly paid waste specialists with fossil fume
belching sweepers clean our leavings up and send this item along
with millions of others to the solid waste landfill.
If we are lucky
the landfills bottom liner will last 50 years before sending
the gift of poly vinyl chloride into the aquifer
and bestowing
cancer on unborn generations, for another thousand years.
